Poker tournament
#1
Happy new year to everyone boys and girls. I've put together the details for the poker tournament and I'm hoping to get everyone's blessing so I can print out the invitations and we can start selling tickets. I could not load the invitation file as it is too big so if we have any IT wizards in the club please share with me how to shrink it so I can put it up on the forum.

LOCATION: Paradise banquet hall (Woodbridge)
DATE: Saturday March 8, 2014
TIME: 6pm
PRICE: $140

I know I know, the price does look high but we will have open bar, antipasto and buffet table during the event. Our options for cutting down cost will be to find a location other than a banquet hall and exclude food and drink or find other means of providing it. I am definitely open to ideas so that we can make this event happen. Also, if we can have some prizes donated that would be great. For a raffle or just as giveaways.
Let me know your thoughts!

Hey guys, for some this is not news as a few club members already knew, but my step father of 23 years, who essentially was like a father to me passed away suddenly while on vacation with my mother in Cuba last month. We have since gone through immense struggles to get him home almost 3 weeks later. There was a news bit on city tv that aired yesterday about what my family had experienced throughout this ordeal. The news link is http://www.citynews.ca/2014/02/03/famil ... d-in-cuba/
This being said, I cannot attend the meeting tomorrow because we are finally able to go through with the funeral process. I have given the tickets to James Dehoog and for everyone that is interested please do not hesitate to buy them from James. This would be a great fund raising opportunity for the club and an overall great night to get together, enjoy some great food, lots of drinks and be in good company. All family and friends are welcome, lets get as many out as possible.
The details are all printed on the tickets and the price of $140 includes buy in into the tournament, open bar and buffet with anti pasto and sweet bar. I am working on securing some donations for raffle prizes and door prizes as well. Any donations will go a long way.
I hope we can get this off the ground and set a great precedent for future tournaments.
Thanks everyone!
